Thousands of people turned out today to watch the Mirabito Columbus Day Parade and Tournament of Bands Competition in downtown Binghamton.  The Parade formed near Arthur and Main Streets and ended near the Broome County Courthouse.

Six marching bands and numerous groups and organizations took part.  Many spectators and participants stayed downtown following the parade to enjoy the Italian Festival on Water Street next to Boscov's.  Last year's event was cancelled due to flood recovery efforts.

In marching band competition Johnson City won the Class A competition while Williamson took first place in B competition and Northeast Bradford took home top honors in the C category.
