Binghamton City Council is expected to vote on a contract for the demolition of the Collier Street Parking Garage.

The City has received several bids for the job with the low bid coming in at $484,000 from locally based Gorick Construction.

The Collier Street ramp has been closed for months as its deteriorating conditions made it unsafe for use.

Once the structure on State, Hawley and Collier Streets comes down, the city plans to put 70 to 80 surface parking spaces on the site before it is developed as a mixed-use property with parking, shops and apartments.

The demolition is expected to be complete by late summer.
