Various reports indicate authorities have their best tip yet in the hunt for escapees and convicted murderers David Sweat and Richard Matt.  According to the Press-Republican newspaper in Plattsburgh DNA evidence proves the pair was at a remote hunting camp on Black Cat Mountain which is about 30 miles west of the Clinton Correctional Facility.

The owner of the hunting camp went to check on his property on Saturday and reportedly encountered at least one individual who bolted from the cabin and ran away.  Police were summoned to investigate and found a jar of peanut butter and dirty prison-issue underwear at the scene.  Also found were toiletries and a jug of water.  The items were sent out for DNA testing and according to Major Charles Guess of the New York State Police there was "conclusive evidence"  that the DNA found matched that of the escaped prisoners.  That has intensified the search in that area close to the hunting camp.
