Vestal Police say two Brooklyn residents are accused of using cloned credit cards to buy a large amount of gift cards from merchants in the town.

22 year old Junior Joseph and 19 year old Johnathan Grant were approached by police in a parking lot at the Parkway Plaza after being notified by merchants about suspicious transactions using multiple credit cards.

The driver sped off and Vestal Police briefly gave chase until the reckless driving of the suspect caused concern and terminated the pursuit.

Binghamton University Police saw the suspects around Bunn Hill Road and also had to quickly terminate their attempt to stop the vehicle given the suspect’s reckless driving.

A City of Binghamton Police Sergeant located the vehicle with fresh damage in a driveway on Vestal Avenue.

U-S Marshalls in the area heard police transmissions concerning the suspects and located the men in the University Plaza Parking lot.

57 counterfeit credit cards and 20 new gift card were seized.

Police say the vehicle involved in the pursuits was found to have been rented in New York City using several other cloned credit cards.

Joseph and Grant have been arraigned on 57 felony counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and both are charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Joseph is also charged with eight vehicle and traffic violations for reckless driving while fleeing police.
