Two football powerhouses will collide Saturday at Maine-Endwell when the Spartans host the Binghamton Patriots at 1:30 (on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  Both posted impressive wins  to open the season last weekend.  The Patriots  defeated Johnson City at Alumni Stadium 34-7 as Amman Weaver rushed for three touchdowns and 176 yards.  The Spartans topped Section 3 foe Nottingham 31-7 in the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.  Darnell Woolfolk ran for 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns to pace the Spartans.

Last season Binghamton advanced to the New York State Quarterfinals in AA competition before being eliminated by Syracuse CBA.  Maine-Endwell marched to the Class B New York State Championship and completed its second straight undefeated season.  Going into Saturday's game the Spartans are riding a 25 game winning streak.

M-E quarterback Kyle Gallagher got the okay to practice after a possible concussion sidelined him in the early going of last week's win.  If Gallagher can't go sophomore Kyle Balmer will get the nod. He played  well coming off the bench to run the Spartan offense.

Binghamton has speed to burn in the backfield and one of Section 4's most dominating defenders in linebacker Joe Crowley.  Crowley is quick and is often used on the pass rush to put pressure on the opposing quarterback.
