Binghamton City Council has adopted an ordinance that will waive the sticker requirement for the disposal of one bulk item per household.  City residents can dispose of the bulk item on their regularly scheduled collection days from Tuesday October 16th to Friday October 19th.

Bulk items include furniture such as a couch, chair, mattress, table, and standard household appliances.

For smaller items that are not suitable to be placed into a City bag, a container can be used or the material can be bundled and tied.  The bundle cannot exceed five feet in length or weigh more than fifty pounds.

Items that are not permitted for free disposal include computers, monitors, tires, oil, batteries, and paints.

For a complete list of items that are allowed and those that are prohibited, residents can call the Department of Public Works at (607) 772-7020.
