Circus-goers will find protestors when they head to the Floyd L. Maines Veterans’ Memorial Arena.

A group called: “Binghamton Can Do Better” along with Binghamton Animal Alliance and the Syracuse Animal Rights Organization are planning to demonstrate during the performances of the Shrine circus.

The groups claim there is a long history of animal abuse with the circus.

Demonstrators will be handing out literature and coloring books to promote ethical family entertainment.

The groups say they are not against circuses in general but are protesting the use of animals like elephants, tigers and bears in performances.

This is the third year the group is protesting the Shrine Circus.
