Binghamton police were involved in a shooting incident this morning at 2:30 AM on the Memorial Bridge.  Police report that two officers responded to Conklin Avenue and Livingston Street following a word of two suspicious males in the area. 

     According to police the officers located the two males as they were walking on the Memorial Bridge.  As the officers approached the males one opened fire on the officers.  The officers returned fire and one suspect was killed in the exchange.  No word on whether the other suspect escaped or was wounded.

     According to the report one officer was wounded in the encounter.  He was treated and released at Lourdes Hospital. No other information is available.
