The Gorgeous Washington Street Association is raising money to enhance holiday decorations in Downtown Binghamton.

Organizers say the initial focus this year is to increase the overall lighting of Court Street from the roundabout to the Front Street side of the Court Street Bridge, Gorgeous Washington Street and the Artists Row section of State Street between Henry and Lewis Streets.

Organizers say if there is sufficient funding, Gorgeous Washington Street plans to place a 20-foot lighted tree in the Metro Center courtyard on Court Street.

The Association, comprised of over 50 local businesses, organizations and individuals, put together a Christmas in July Gala for July 25th that included raffles, fine art auction, food and entertainment to raise funds to help pay for the purchase, maintenance, installation and storage of the lights and decorations.
