Online registration is now open for cycling races and the 5K run for the 32nd Annual Chris Thater Memorial Races presented by SEFCU.  The races will be held in Downtown Binghamton on August 22nd and 23rd.

The 5K run is set for Sunday, August 23rd at 9:50 AM.  A free kids run will be held at 10:45 AM after the first race concludes.

There will be 18 cycling races for riders of all levels throughout the weekend.  The USA Cycling National Criterium Calendar pro races will be held Saturday night.

The Chris Thater Memorial Races are free and are presented by SEFCU to heighten awareness about the dangers of impaired driving and to promote healthy living.  The races are dedicated to the memory of Christopher Thater, a 23 year-old cycling enthusiast and graduate of Binghamton University who was killed by a drunk driver in 1983.

Cyclists and runners can go to www.ThaterMemorial.com to register and to find a complete list of events for the weekend.  The races are expected to attract over 1,000 athletes and several thousand spectators.
