This is a big weekend for CHOW (Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse) and our community.  This Saturday, May 13 is the annual CHOW Postal Drive.  Postal Carriers throughout Broome County will be helping CHOW feed the hungry in our area by collecting non-perishable food items that residents put out by their mailbox.  Postal Carriers will take the food to their stations where it will be collected and donated to CHOW.

This is one of the biggest collection days of the year for CHOW.  The need for food has continually increased in our community.  Now with summer vacations from school fast approaching CHOW is looking to stock up to assist families who will need to provide more meals for school-age children since any breakfast or lunch meals obtained at school will not be available.

CHOW officials urge food donors to think of items that can provide a meal for several people at a time. Things like cereal, pasta, baby formula and soups are always needed.
