A Chenango County yogurt producer is partnering with Cornell University to improve dairy production in the region.

Chobani, which is based in New Berlin, has contributed $500,000 in a grant to Cornell’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for research and workforce training in dairy quality.

Greek yogurt manufacturing in Upstate, New York have created hundreds of jobs and support for the state's dairy farmers.  New York companies now account for nearly 3/4 of all Greek yogurt sales in the U.S.

Chobani, alone, boasts sales of more than $1 billion a year.
