Children’s Home Holds Annual Ice Cream Social
The rain that moved through our area yesterday did not dampen the spirits of those who attended the 56th Anniversary Ice Cream Social at the Children’s Home on Chenango Street in Hillcrest. Home made cake and ice cream donated by Huff’s were the sweet treats that drew the people along with the desire to help support the Children’s Home .
The Children’s Home provides s a number of youth services and support. Yesterday for just $3.00 visitors were able to have cake and ice cream and also purchase hamburgers and hot dogs if they wanted additional food.
The Maine Community Band performed. They have provided music at every Children’s Home Ice Cream Social over the entire 56 years. Also on hand were representatives from the Zoo at Ross Park with several animals on display, Monica’s Heart Greyhound Adoption and face painting and games for the children and other groups who took part in the festivities.
