Some residents in the Chenango Valley School District are questioning plans for a $12.4 million capital project.

The district is looking to upgrade security at the school buildings, make improvements to athletic facilities including a stadium turf multi-purpose field and track resurfacing, repairs to the bus garage, roof repairs and parking lot expansion.

Officials say with money used from the capital reserve and fund balance along with New York State aid, there should be no net tax levy impact, on average, for residents.

The capital plan can be seen on the Chenango Valley District website: www.cvcsd.stier.org.

A handful of people turned out for the final public information meeting on the proposal prior to the December 9th vote and many said they wanted a break-down on just how much each of the 30 components of the plan would cost.
