Part of Chenango Street is being closed at the beginning of next week for the removal of a bridge over the road.

The closure of the street between Moffatt Avenue and Sturges Street in Binghamton July 28-30 will not only mean a detour for motorists, which will be marked by signs, but also an obstacle for pedestrians and cyclists.

The New York State Department of Transportation says a shuttle bus will be traveling a continuous loop, picking up pedestrians and bicyclists at Chenango and Morgan Streets and Chenango and Surges Streets.

The closure is due to begin at 6 a.m. July 28 and work completed at 6 p.m. on the 30th, weather permitting.
