A Chenango Forks man is facing several charges following a crash in the area of State Route 12 and Knapp Hill Road in Chenango Forks at around 5 am September 20th.

Nearby residents reported hearing a vehicle crash in the area.

When Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, they found a man with the vehicle, covered in blood.  Authorities say 29-year-old Andrew Hessney of Chenango Forks ran from the scene and was pursued on foot through several yards before being taken into custody.

He was taken to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries suffered when the dual airbag deployed during the crash then was turned back over to the custody of the Sheriff's Office.

He’s charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and moving from a lane unsafely.

Hessney was sent to the Broome County Jail on $500 bail.
