The long-time rivalry between Chenango Forks and Chenango Valley continued on the gridiron today at Chenango Forks.  The Blue Devils crushed the Warriors 55-20.  CV has not defeated CF since 1994.  There have been some epic battles over that span but today was not one of them.

The Blue Devils jumped out to a 12-0 lead on touchdowns by Isaiah Zimmer on a 27-yard run and a 27 yard touchdown pass from John Colm Sweeney to Andrew Ziegenfus.  The Warriors countered on a 58-yard touchdown pass from Bryan Pert to Gavin Ashman to make it a 12-7 game.  Forks began to dominate from there and took a 34-14 lead into the locker room at the half.

In the second half the Blue Devils got a pair of touchdowns from Ryan Bronson and led 55-14 at the end of three quarters.  CV got a score from Aaron Truminio but that was it and the final ended up 55-20 in favor of Chenango Forks.

With the win the Blue Devils move to 6-1 while CV drops to 4-3.  The possibility exists that this might be the last meeting between the two rivals.  Merger talks are being conducted between the two school districts and the decision may be determined by voters before the current school year comes to a close.
