Chenango County Woman Charged With Arson and Animal Cruelty

A Town of Greene woman is accused of setting fire to the basement of her home on Route 206 yesterday morning, killing 33 dogs inside.

New York State Police say 62 year old Michele Keech is charged with felony counts of arson and cruelty to animals. 

Authorities have not listed a motive for the alleged arson or why they believe there were so many dogs at the home.

Keech was released on her own recognizance to await future court action.
