State University of New York Chancellor Nancy Zimpher is responding to President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address.

The Chancellor is enlisting SUNY's full support in fostering better quality education as addressed in Tuesday's speech.

In response to the President's Race to the Top program, which focuses on training high school students in applicable sciences in the workforce, Zimpher said SUNY's STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) Learning Network is already creating instructional partnerships with businesses and schools, and will assist other schools in need of similar resources.

Student debts, acessibility, and affordability were also a concern in the State of the Union address. Zimpher commented that State universities already rank highly and, through sharing services and the Smart Track Campaign, SUNY is on target to reduce costs and default rates among students.
