The owner of Champion Speedway in Owego, 37 year old Jason Bonsignore of Rochester, is charged with over two dozen counts of offering a false instrument for filing under the New York State Penal Law.

Bonsignore is also charged with four counts each of failure to secure compensation for employees and fraudulent practice under the New York State Workers Compensation Law.  All the charges are felonies.

Tioga County Sheriff's officials say the charges are a result of an investigation into Bonsignore's Champion Speedway business on Old Narrows Road in the Town of Owego.

Bonsignore was arraigned in the Town of Owego Court and released on his own recognizance.

The sheriff's office says anyone who has information on potential workers compensation fraud violations can visit the Workers Compensation Board website at www.wcb.ny.gov or call, toll-free at 1-888-363-6001.
