Celebrating Women’s Athletics Luncheon Set For Events Center

The 13th Annual Celebrating Women's Athletics Luncheon is set for Monday, February 26th at the Events Center on campus at Binghamton University.  The Luncheon is presented by M & T Bank and organized through the Binghamton Bearcats Athletic Association.

Funds raised through the event provide scholarship aid to female student athletes and since 2006 the Celebrating Women's Athletics Luncheon has raised over $300,000 to support the organization's scholarship fund. Two annual scholarships are awarded from proceeds raised from the Luncheon.

This year's keynote speaker will be Shannon Boxx who starred on the world stage as a standout soccer player. Boxx had a storied soccer career.  She won an NCAA  National Championship with Notre Dame.  Then as a member of the United States Olympic Team she helped capture gold medals in 2004, 2008 and 2012.  Boxx was also a member of four World Cup Teams and played professionally in three different leagues.
