Kirkwood Man Acccused of Emptying Friend’s Bank Account

 

A Kirkwood man is accused of asking a friend to deposit a cashier’s check, that was fake, into that person’s bank account, leaving the friend over-drawn.

Broome County Sheriff’s officials say when Tyrone Smith was confronted about the overdrawn account, he wrote a personal check against an account that was closed.

New York State Police say a Chenango County man is being charged in connection with the stabbing death of another man.

Troopers say Kyle Whitfield of Greene was arrested yesterday, one day before his 29th birthday and charged with murder.

A former Tioga County car dealer, twice convicted of murder in the disappearance of his wife and who is awaiting a third trial, is looking for the ‘real killer’ of Michele Harris. 

Cal Harris and his four children are expected to formally launch a confidential tip line tomorrow to gather information about the September, 2001 disappearance of the Town of Spencer woman.

Authorities say 35-year-old Henry Chase of Newark Valley was charged with third-degree assault.
