The Vermont Catamounts proved too much for the Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team on Saturday afternoon in Burlington at Patrick Gymnasium. The Catamounts opened up a 36-14 lead at the half and outscored the Bearcats 42-36 in the second half to earn a 78-50 decision. Binghamton never led in the game. The Catamounts move to 5-0 in the America East conference while the Bearcats are now 1-3.

Binghamton's Sam Sessoms scored 19 points to lead the offense. Caleb Stewart also hit for double figures finishing with 14 points.

Vermont's Ernie Duncan had a game high 20 points including four three-point baskets. Samuel Dingba notched a double-double with 14 rebounds and 10 points. Rebounding was a big key with the Catamounts out-rebounding the Bearcats 47-16. Binghamton managed just two offensive boards.

Overall, Vermont moves to 15-4 and 5-0 in the conference while BU drops to 5-14. The Bearcats return home for two straight games beginning on Wednesday when UMass Lowell visits for a 7:00 P.M. contest at the Events Center.
