A Kirkwood woman will not have a second trial in connection with a home invasion slaying in Windsor in 2009, opting instead, to agree to a plea deal.

23 year old Ashley Carnevale and her husband, Anthony were accused of breaking into a home in January, 2009 in search of prescription drugs, shooting and killing Jean Clark and injuring the homeowner, Ethan Button.

Anthony Carnevale pleaded guilty in connection with the killing and is serving 25 years to life in prison.

Ashley had been convicted in connection with her participation in the crime. But issues with the police interrogation and her lawyer's representation of her won her an appeal.

This week, Ashley Carnevale pleaded guilty to manslaughter and assault in exchange for a sentence of 15 years in prison. Under the deal, Carnevale has waived her right to further appeals.

Sentencing is set for next month.
