The Binghamton law office representing a Pennsylvania woman accused of endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person is reporting their client is being cleared of the charges after standing trial in Broome County Court.

Hilda Green of Media had been accused of failing to monitor an autistic girl in September 2014 while the girl was staying at the Front Street location of the Handicapped Children’s Association.

The child reportedly wandered away and ran into the Chenango River when a passerby stepped in to stop her from jumping off the Court Street Bridge.

At the time, emergency services officials received calls from witnesses reporting seeing a young girl, wearing one shoe, a tee-shirt and diaper walking alone in Downtown Binghamton.

Battisti & Garzo says Green has been found not guilty of two counts of endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, one a felony and one a misdemeanor, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
