Authorities say 27-year-old Grant Woodruff was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance. He also was cited for traffic violations.

According to state police, a car driven by Woodruff crashed into the bus on Chenango Bridge Road around 8:30 a.m. Monday.

The driver was the only person on the BC Transit bus, which was stopped in traffic at the time of the collision.

Investigators say Woodruff was found to be in possession of hydrocodone and alprazolam pills.

Woodruff was arraigned in Chenango town court and sent to Broome County Jail on $1,000 bail. His next scheduled court date is June 28.
