Canstruction of the Southern Tier presented by Visions Federal Credit Union is on display through this Sunday at the Oakdale Mall.  Canstruction is an international hunger-relief competition where architects, engineers and contractors compete to design and build giant structures made entirely from full cans of food.

Eight businesses and organizations have entered the competition and their exhibits are on display at the Oakdale Mall.  All the food used in the displays will be donated to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier and CHOW.  The businesses also paid an entry fee to get into the competition.  Visitors are encouraged to visit the displays and vote for their favorites. Votes must be in by noon on Wednesday, April 15.  Winners in various categories will advance to national competition.  There are over 100 cities around the United States who are taking part in Canstruction,

Details on voting and Canstruction can be found at: www.foodbankst.org.  Canstruction is hosted by The Broome Leadership Institute (BLI) and the BLI Alumni Association.
