Cans of non-perishable food, arranged in fantastic structures, are taking over the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City.

The third annual Southern Tier Canstruction competition to benefit local hunger programs is underway.

Binghamton area businesses have signed on to build large structures entirely out of canned food that will be donated to the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW) and the Food Bank of the Southern Tier at the conclusion of the event April 10.

The public is invited to look at the structures and vote on their favorite on the Food Bank’s website: www.foodbankst.org.
