Galaxy Brewing Company brings in a mobile canning unit to its Court Street site once a month.

Galaxy's popular Andromeda IPA now is being distributed in cans in dozens of retail locations.

The company uses the services of Mobile Can Man of Trumansburg to package the beer for wider distribution.

Galaxy managing partner Michael Weisel said several thousand cans of Andromeda are shipped out every month.

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program Wednesday, Weisel said Andromeda now has become so popular that it's hard for Galaxy to keep up with the other beers it makes.

Galaxy is taking steps to open a separate production facility in Binghamton to accommodate the growing demand.

Weisel and his son Seth opened Galaxy Brewing in August 2013. Although the business has been in operation for less than four years, enhancements to its bar and restaurant are being made.

Galaxy Brewing plans to hold a re-launch event Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m.
