The third murder trial for former Tioga County businessman, Calvin Harris is scheduled to take place in Schoharie County Court September 15, 13 years after Michele Harris disappeared.

The latest trial was moved out of Tioga County after it was ruled Cal Harris would not be able to get an unbiased jury seated in the Southern Tier.

Harris was twice convicted of murder but the convictions were thrown out on appeal.

Michele was last seen September 11, 2001 and a long search for her turned up nothing. The woman’s body was never found.

Cal Harris has maintained his innocence and, in March, he appeared with his children and lawyer to announce a tip line had been set up with the hopes of getting information from the public.

During the appearance, the children issued a statement that said they firmly believed in their father’s innocence.

The date for the start of the latest trial was confirmed this week.

Judge George Bartlett will preside.
