Bob Joseph/WNBF News [March 5, 2014][/caption]A third day of deliberations in the Cal Harris murder trial in Schoharie County gets underway May 5.

Harris is accused of killing his estranged wife, Michele, who disappeared in September of 2001.

Much of the proceedings May 1 involved a review of testimony and the defense team’s 14th motion for a mistrial.

The latest motion came after a clerk mistakenly read a portion of testimony that had been stricken from the record.

Harris’ lawyer claimed the judge did not follow through with jury instructions to disregard stricken testimony.

Harris has twice been convicted of murder in connection with his wife’s disappearance with both of the former Tioga County car dealer’s convictions being overturned on appeal.

Michele Harris’ body has never been found and no murder weapon has been identified or recovered.

The latest trial was moved to Schoharie County after the defense successfully argued that, due to publicity surrounding the case, Harris would not be able to face an unbiased jury in his home county.
