Tioga County Chamber of Commerce President, Martha Sauerbrey, Speaking on the August 9 edition of the local weekly public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up, says the chamber is always busy but now has several events planned for the next couple months.

Reservations are being taken for businesses to participate in the annual business show on October 10th as well as for the Leadership Tioga class that begins September 10.

Also in September, Sauerbrey says the chamber will host an H.R. Roundtable discussion on affordable health care, especially for small businesses. Sauerbrey says there is a lot of confusion about what will be required in the future under federal health care reform.

Aside from upcoming programs, Sauerbrey also talked about the challenges that faced the chamber right after the September, 2011 flood and the challenges still facing some businesses and residents in Tioga County as recovery work continues.
