1st Lt. Civil Air Patrol squadron 292, David Hektor says the Cadets, ages 12-21 have been showing up locally, nationally and internationally.

The squadron, based out of the Greater Binghamton Help Center, helped locally with the post-2011 flood cleanup, assisted with crowd control for the hot air balloon launching at the 2013 Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally and helped reload the balloons back into their trailers.

Nationally, the Cadets were at MetLife Stadium to perform as the Color Guard during the National Anthem.  They were also invited back for the August 29 game between the Jets and Eagles.

Lt. Hektor says the Cadets in June were at Watkins Glen International Raceway for the internationally-broadcast Continental Tire 150 and were invited back for the August 10 Zippo 200.
