The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team opens America East conference play tonight (Wednesday) at 7 PM  (air at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  The Bearcats host the UMBC Retrievers in the first conference game of the season for both teams.

Binghamton and UMBC are both 5-8 in non-conference competition.  BU is coming off of a 54-51 loss to Cornell on New Year's Day.  The Retrievers topped Coppin State Saturday 73-63 for their fifth win of the season.

In the all-time series between Binghamton and UMBC the Bearcats hold an 18-11 edge. Last year the Bearcats won two of three meetings with the Retrievers including a 49-41 quarterfinal playoff contest.

Imani Watkins leads the Bearcats in scoring with 19.9 points per game.  That is also tops in America East and 21st in the nation.  Jasmine Sina is second in scoring for Binghamton averaging 11.5 points per game.
