The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team plays host to New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) at at the Events Center.  Binghamton returned home late Saturday night after dropping a 90-62 decision to the Michigan Wolverines at Michigan earlier in the day.

It was the home opener for Division I play for the Bearcats.  This is the first game of the season for the Highlanders who went 12-17 last year.  They have a pair of starters back and seven letterwinners back from that team.  Leah Horton, a junior center , is the top returner with a 10.1 points per game average in the 2014-15 campaign.

Binghamton got impressive play at Michigan from forward Alyssa James and freshman guard Rebecca Carmody.  James sat out last year after transferring from Caldwell College and notched a double double.  She scored 17 points and added 10 rebounds.  Carmody, who earned America East Rookie of the Week honors, connected for 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds while recording five assists.

The Bearcats travel to Bucknell.  BU then returns home to host Cedar Crest.
