Th Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team is picked to finish fourth in the America East Preseason Coaches' Poll released today (Thursday).  Voting was conducted by America East's nine head coaches.  Coaches were not allowed to cast a vote for their own team.

It is the highest projection for a Bearcats men's team since the 2008-2009 campaign.  BU finished fifth last season and was eliminated from the post-season with a quarter-final round loss at Stony Brook.

The Bearcats have five starters and 11 letterwinners returning.  Plus, the addition of guard J.C. Show, a redshirt sophomore who sat out last year after his transfer from Bucknell , has added even more optimism for Coach Tommy Dempsey and his staff.  Show was named the Pa. Gatorade Player of the Year and Mr. Basketball in Pa. before playing one season at Bucknell.

The Vermont Catamounts were selected as the team to win the regular season championship. The coaches picked New Hampshire to finish third followed by the Albany Great Danes in fourth place.

Rounding out the coaches' picks in order are UMass Lowell in fifth place followed by UMBC, Stony Brook, Hartford and Maine.  The Bearcats open their season at home on Friday, November 11 versus the Cornell Big Red.  America East play begins at UMBC on January 4.  All games will again be heard on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
