The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team looks to rebound from a heartbreaking overtime loss in Maine against the Black Bears last Saturday.  They can start with a home game on Thursday night as they host the UMBC Retrievers at 7 PM (air at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF) at the Events Center in Vestal.

In the teams' first meeting this season in Maryland on January 24th the Retrievers defeated the Bearcats 69-57.  The Retrievers are in second place in America East with a 7-3 record.  They fell to the top team in the conference on Saturday losing to Vermont 81-53.  It was a milestone day for the Retrievers as they played the first game in their new 50 million dollar Event Center.

The current America East standings have the Vermont Catamounts in first place in the conference with a 9-0 record.  The Retrievers follow at 7-3 and are tied with Hartford for second place.  The Albany Great Danes are in fourth place at 6-4.  New Hampshire follows at 5-5.  Then UMass Lowell, Stony Brook and Maine all check in with three conference victories.  Binghamton trails the pack with just one conference win...that a win over New York state rival Albany.
