The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team is back in action on Saturday afternoon at the Events Center. Tipoff is slated for 1:00 P.M. with air on News Radio 1290 WNBF at 12:45. Both teams are 1-4 in the conference. In the series between the two teams the Black Bears hold a 19-17 advantage. Maine has won the last three meetings
between the two teams. Last season the Black Bears won both games. They defeated the Bearcats at the Events Center 76-73 and in Maine 81-79 in overtime.

The Black Bears dropped their last game on Saturday 64-61 against Stony Brook while the Bearcats fell 85-79 to UMass Lowell at the Events Center. In that game BU led for 34 minutes before falling 85-79. Sam Sessoms scored a game-high 32 points for the Bearcats and Caleb Stewart scored 22 points and snared 16 rebounds for BU.

Maine has gotten off to good starts in four of its past five games and led at the half against Stony Brook. Binghamton's lone conference win came in a home decision over New Hampshire to begin conference play. Shot blocking has been a big plus for the Bearcats. In Wednesday's game against UMass Lowell Binghamton blocked nine shots. Chancellor Bernard had seven of those blocks. The Bearcats head into the weekend ranked sixth in the nation in blocked shots and average 5.5 blocked shots per game.
