The Binghamton Bearcats come from behind efforts fell short on Wednesday night at the RAC Arena in Catonsville, Md as the UMBC Retrievers downed the BU 69-57.  The wins puts the Retrievers America East record at 5-2 and 14-8 overall.  Binghamton's record falls to 1-6 in conference action and 10-12 overall.

The Bearcats led for much of the early going but fell behind 36-18 at the end of the first half.  The Retrivers led by as many as 20 points early in the second half but a feverish Bearcat rally twice whittled their lead down to five points.  But UMBC always answered with a key shot to impede Binghamton's comeback efforts.  The Bearcats outscored the Retrievers 39-33 in the second half but it was not enough.

Everson Davis led all Binghamton scorers with 14 points.  Joe Sherburne of the Retrievers paced all scorers with 18 points while the conference's leading scorer Jairus Lyles was right behind with a 17 point game.

Willie Rodriguez becomes the all-time Binghamton rebounding leader as he grabbed 11 boards surpassing Nick Billings who played from 2001-2005..  The Bearcats return home on Saturday to host the New Hampshire Wildcats at 4:00 PM at the Events Center.
