The Binghamton Bearcats took a break from America East action Saturday and hosted New York Institute of Technology in a doubleheader at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

In the first game the Bearcats crushed NJIT pitching rolling to a 23-1 win.  Brendan Skidmore ripped a two-run home run to help power the offense.  Skidmore leads all America East batters with eight home runs.  Binghamton banged out 27 hits in the game which is a new BU record.  The Bearcats also scored 12 runs in the second inning which ties a school record.  Jake Cryts earned the win upping his season record to 4-4.

In the nightcap Binghamton had a much tougher time of it edging NYIT 3-2.  Mike Bunal started and earned the win for BU.  Reed Gamache had a big day at the plate going 5-10. The sweep puts the Bearcats record at 19-20 overall.  They play at St. Bonaventure on Tuesday afternoon.
