The owner of a Broome County taxi cab company admits he operated without a license, getting him over $100,000 dollars in Medicaid payments for transporting Medicaid patients to appointments.  But Broome County Taxi didn’t have a valid taxi license, business license or commercial driver’s license.

The New York State Attorney General’s office says 43 year old Darin Cox of Vestal was also accused of submitting business forms falsely claiming all licensing for the taxi company was in place.

Cox pleaded guilty to grand larceny.

Sentencing is set for March and Cox could face up to seven years in prison.
