Broome Sheriff’s Office Uses Facebook to Catch Suspect

The Broome County Sheriff's office says it used social media to track down one of two suspects accused of stealing an air conditioner from a Westover discount store.

Deputies say Ollies Outlet in the Home Depot Plaza on Route 17C reported two men entered the store July 17 and an air conditioning unit was stolen.

The Sheriff's office posted the surveillance video on its facebook page and received several tips.  Following up on those tips, investigators say the found 20 year old George Dunn July 19 hiding in a closet in a home on Glenwood Road in the City of Binghamton.

Dunn is charged with conspiracy and petit larceny.

The second man seen on the surveillance video is still at large.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Broome County Sheriff's office.
