Broome Sheriff David Harder on Southern Tier Close Up

A wide variety of law enforcement issues are discussed on the May 25th edition of the weekly local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up by Broome County Sheriff David Harder.

Online and home improvement scams are very prevalent now, according to Harder. On the program, the Sheriff reviews some common ones and offers tips for residents to keep from becoming a victim.

Another large portion of the program was dedicated to motoring safety, including the present Click It or Ticket Campaign, distracted driving, New York's cell phone law and ban on texting while driving. Sheriff Harder explains what's behind various saturation patrols and why they are scheduled for certain times of year.
