Broome County officials say they are ready to deal with Ebola or other infectious diseases.

While the deadly virus has not been found in Broome County, officials say protocols are in place to identify and deal with any possible cases.

County officials hosted a news conference outlining some of its plans and say the county health department, hospitals and emergency services have procedures in place, including protective gear, should a potential Ebola case be identified.

Officials are also on the lookout for anyone who has recently traveled to affected West African countries.
