The former Link Simulation facility in Kirkwood is getting a new life thanks to an infusion of money from New York State and plans from the local founder of a media marketing firm with the promise of the addition of 600 new jobs.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo joined Broome County officials and Modern Marketing Concepts founder Dan Babcock to announce a 17 million dollar investment to transform over 50 acres along Industrial Park Drive into to new Link Park complex.

In addition to the expansion of Modern Marketing Concepts, which provides multi-media resources to companies, the site will continue to house L-3 Communications and other companies.

Officials say Link park has already reached a large portion of the occupancy space with 30% still available for future availability.

Babcock says the facility will provide a café, full gym as well as a seasonal car start and snow removal service for employees enduring the Twin Tiers winters.

Governor Cuomo praised Babcock and Modern Media Concepts for sticking with New York State when the company, along with many others over recent years, had the option to move out of the state.
