Broome Man Accused of Fleeing Police After Dispute
A Windsor man faces charges after he allegedly ran away from a state trooper who was trying to place him under arrest.
Authorities say 26-year-old Kenneth Degroat Jr. was charged with resisting arrest and second-degree harassment.
According to state police, a trooper was sent to a mobile home park on Brown Road in the Town of Windsor on July 28 to investigate a harassment complaint.
As the trooper attempted to arrest Degroat while in the doorway of his residence, he allegedly pulled away and then fled out a back door.
Police eventually found Degroat at his home. He was arrested on Monday without incident.
Degroat was arraigned in Windsor town court and sent to Broome County Jail on $1,500 bail.
