Broome Incumbents Fight Challenges: Election 2014
Voters head to the polls to decide a number of state and local races.
Most notable decisions are the race for New York Governor with incumbent Democrat Andrew Cuomo looking to retain his seat in a challenge by Republican Rob Astorino and two, third party candidates.
In the Binghamton area, closely watched contests involve the New York State Senate seat pitting long-time incumbent Republican Thomas Libous of Binghamton against former Vestal Town Supervisor, Democrat, Anndrea Starzak.
Another long-time incumbent facing a challenger is Republican Sheriff David Harder, who is facing Binghamton Police Sergeant Chris Bracco.
Polls are open until 9 p.m.
