Two Broome County Industrial Development Agency public hearings originally scheduled for this week now are expected to take place sometime during May.

The agency initially intended to hold a hearing Thursday on a National Pipe and Plastics request for aid in connection with the Vestal company's planned move to West Endicott.

The IDA also had set a hearing for Tuesday on a project to replace the flood-damaged Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Agency executive director Richard D'Attilio told WNBF News the public hearings were postponed because more information must be compiled regarding the assessed value of the properties involved.

D'Attilio said the assessment data will have to be analyzed before the hearings can be held.

D'Attilio said the agency will work to reschedule the hearings in a "timely fashion" so work on the West Endicott and Vestal projects won't be delayed. He said he expects they could be held sometime next month.
