Broome Government Appointments Confirmed

The new Broome County Executive, Democrat Jason Garnar, has gotten his appointments past the Republican-controlled County Legislature.

12 department head appointments were approved January 19, but not totally without concern.

Some legislators say they didn’t think Director of Employment nominee Sara Liu had enough experience in matching the unemployed with jobs and organizing training sessions. Liu was confirmed in a 12 to 3 vote.
