Local law enforcement agencies are reminding clerks to be on the lookout for bogus money.

Broome County Sheriff’s officials say 48 year old Bonnie Florance of the Town of Maine was arrested after a clerk alerted authorities that a 100 dollar bill exchanged at the Sunoco gas station in West Corners April 26 didn’t look right.

Deputies say a review of surveillance video resulted in the woman’s identification as she was seen exchanging the counterfeit 100 for smaller bills before leaving the store.

A Sheriff’s Deputy said he recognized Florance from prior counterfeit money investigations.

Florance is charged with felony criminal possession of a forged instrument and was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
